***CLUB NOTES***
IN THE EVENT OF A TIE!
In non-NCGA qualifying tournaments, the computer
automatically calculates the placement of teams in each flight
based on the standard tie-breaker formula.  Teams that are
tied are compared first by the total back nine score, then the
last six holes, then the last three holes. If still tied, starting at
the 18th hole, then going backwards hole by hole until a
winner is declared.
In a NCGA qualifying tournament, a
three-hole playoff is used to determine the qualifier.
TOURNAMENT ENTRY FEES
When paying your tournament entry fees, the amount due is
dependent on how you elect to pay.  For example, for this
month's tournament, the amount due is:
  • Cash or check - $62
  • PayPal - $64 (includes a $2 PayPal processing fee)
PLEASE DO NOT GIVE US A CHECK FOR $64!
If you want to use a cart, you must pay for it in the pro
shop on the days of the tournament.

When filling out your scorecard, please write as legibly as
possible and total your gross score for both the front and back
9 scores.  The total is used as a double check that it was
entered into the computer correctly.  You do not need to write
in the net scores.  The computer will figure them out.
PVMC held its popular 2 Man Best Ball tournament in July.  A field of 96 golfers stepped to the tee for a chance at top honors

PVMC TO HOLD CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP IN SEPTEMBER
TOURNAMENT RESULTS UPDATE
PVMC BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTION
We are now in the annual election season for the Board of Directors for PVMC.  Nominations are being accepted through the
end of
August for any of the Board positions: President, Vice President, Tournament Director, Handicap Chairman, Treasurer,
and Secretary.  Elections will be held in September with the Board being announced at the October Annual Meeting.  Please
contact any Board member for additional information.
TOURNAMENT ENTRY FORMS
We are still experiencing issues with the completion of the tournament entry forms.  IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO
ENSURE THAT YOUR ENTRY FORM IS FILLED OUT!
If you elect to pay for the tournament through PayPal you must still
submit an entry form since the entry forms are what is used to create the tournament pairings - the entry form is available in
word format so that it can be filled in electronically and emailed.  Also, It is extremely frustrating when entry forms are submitted
asking to be paired with specific people only to find out that they did not enter the tournament or they have asked to play with
someone else.
PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR POTENTIAL PARTNERS BEFORE PUTTING THEM ON YOUR ENTRY FORM.

We do our best to accommodate special requests and playing partners, but it is not always possible.  If you do not fill out an
entry form, your preferences may not be accommodated.
Next month is the PVMC annual Club Championship!  A couple of things to point out:
  • In order to be eligible to be crowned Gross or Net Champion, you must have played in at least 3 club tournaments
during the current season.  If you are not eligible, you can still win the prize money!
  • You can specify on your entry form for day 1 your playing partners.  On day 2, you will be paired based on how you
performed on day 1.  Please do not complain if you do not get to play with someone you know on day 2.
  • If you have a handicap index of 10 or less and you do not specify which tees to play, you will be put in the gross flight.
